Robert (Bob) McCarroll serves as a member of the Research & Development Leadership Team as Head of Open Innovations & Strategic Partnerships for the Crop Science division of Bayer. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Bob oversees a global team to develop a culture of innovation and grow partnerships internally and externally for Crop Science.
Dedicated to helping farmers protect their crop yields, Bob brings more than 20 years of experience in biotechnology and genetic research to Bayer. Bob joined the Bayer R&D team in 2018, coming from a diverse background of academic and industry positions with both research and leadership experience. Most recently, he served as Science Strategy and Investments Lead at Monsanto, where he worked for over 16 years prior to joining Bayer. Bob graduated from University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts in both Philosophy and Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology. He later went on to earn his Ph.D. in Genetics from University of Washington.
