Dr. Matthias Evers is a Senior Partner in McKinsey’s Hamburg office and co-leads the firm’s Global Research & Development work in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Products practice.
Since joining the firm in 2002, Matthias engaged with clients in Europe but also in the U.S., China, and India on transforming their organizations to step-up innovation and R&D productivity through deep-rooted transformations.
His work often deals with the increasing synergies between advances in biology and (digital) technology and focuses on collaboration across the healthcare innovation ecosystem as well as other industries. His clients include big pharma, biotech, and generics companies along with Private Equity/Venture Capital firms, academic medical centers, and Contract Research Organizations.
Matthias holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry/Biochemistry from the University of Bochum with a focus on Neuroscience. Before his career with McKinsey, he worked as a Research Associate and Postdoctorate at a Center for Molecular Neurobiology in Hamburg. He authored several articles in the field of bioinformatics and molecular biology.
